The Novel" When My Name was Keoko" Relates to our roots and recipes topic when the ethnicity and the culture of food being described in the novel relates to our present dishes. Like from the book, one of my favorite qutes is and i quote " They take our life, our rice, our language, and our privacy, and we should appreciate them for giving little rubber balls". Rice is, i think probobly the most commonly used food in the world next to cows and butter. It's culture has a history behind it from Okinawa, Japan, Korea, The Philippenes, Indonsia and all other Nesia's There are in thw world. But the main reason this relates to our identity is because there are many different ways to cook rice from each culture. some are traditional and some are custom. That says who you really are....i guess.
